Shábach Ministries -Mission, Vision, and Impact

Are We Relevant? is the digital home of Shábach Ministries, a South African-based outreach dedicated to bridging the gap between Sunday faith and everyday living. Founded on the unadulterated truth of God’s Word, we challenge believers to ask: “Does my life truly portray the image of Christ?”

Through our flagship book, Are We Relevant?, and our specialized Everyday Evangelism and Share Your Faith workshops, we equip the Body of Christ to move beyond religious routine. We focus on organic discipleship, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the calling to serve our communities. Our mission is simple: to help you know Him intimately and reveal Him effectively to a world in need.

Testimony

I believe that the author has a very important message. It is a message that all Christians, especially the ‘leaders of the churches’ should hear (read). The time is here. We can all sense it as a result of time ‘moving faster’. It is time for Christians to be REMINDED of who they are in Christ, time to gain back the power through the Holy Spirit!

The author writes in a relaxed, easy to read manner. He is stating the unadulterated truth on important matters:

  • “The church was formed as a community to serve within a community,”
  • “The naked, the poor and the hungry will bear witness to our faith.”

The author asks powerful questions:

  • “Do we make a difference in society?”
  • “Is not the knowledge of the Word of God, which is discussed here, maybe the POWER of God?”

Book Reviews

The earnest responsibility of every Christian is to live a godly life.  Nellis Janse van Rensburg invites the reader to examine his own life and place it under the microscope of God’s Word. Direct questions will be asked, that could either edify or aggravate you:

  • Does your life portray the image of Christ?
  • Are you living in the power of the Holy Spirit?
  • Does your life testify that you seek God’s will and live it?

This book will motivate you to a real obedience to Christ, so that you may be worthy of the name: Christian.  Soli Deo Gloria,

My favourite part of the book is the author’s continual reference to Scripture, it is what the book is all about. There are many appropriate Scripture references in the book. The “conversational” style of writing, in which the author appears to be talking directly to the reader, is my favourite feature. May God truly use this book to challenge people in their relationship and exercise of their profession as Christians?

As I read this book my spirit began to soar. Here is a book, which has that lovely aroma of the Holy Spirit putting his finger right on one of the most painful spots in the Christian Church. There is no area where the Church fails more than in raising true disciples of Jesus Christ.  Nellis van Rensburg brings to us a wonderful, inspired reminder of what it is to be Christ’s true follower. The timing of this book is God’s gracious timing.

Read it and be challenged, excited and encouraged.
